Yes, it’s that time of the year. When all the girl scouts you know become your best friend. Thank goodness I don’t know that many. [Please don’t tell me you can buy them online; I’d like to keep control over my weakness for Thin Mints. They don’t help me Get Thin.]
Cooking with Girl Scout Cookies has become the rage. Why take a $4 box of cookies — nearly double the cost and half the size of your favorite brand at the market — and use it as an ingredient? They taste great on their own with an ice-cold glass of milk.
Why not? They make things taste better. Last year, at an impromptu afternoon-snack-celebration at work I made ice cream sandwich bites rolled in crushed thin mint cookies. They were delicious!
Tonight I ripped open a box of Peanut Butter Patties and made Peanut Butter Banana Mousse Trifle. I don’t dare challenge myself to another competition; I’m still working on the 99 cans of pumpkin (wait a second…maybe there’s a way to combine pumpkin and G.S.Cookies…).
